Cindy Pappas - Broker

Cindy Pappas began her career at Sullivan Real Estate in 1977 as a secretary, working for Dorothy Sullivan, who became her dear friend and mentor. Upon Dorothy's death in 1983, she purchased the company and has, for almost three decades, has loved her job, the people that she has been privileged to work with, and the many friends that she has made along the way.

Having a job that you love is a great stroke of luck; having that job in a place like Block Island is nothing short of heaven on earth! Cindy and her husband Tony made their home on the island in 1976 and raised their two children, Becky and Jason on the island. Though the years, they have had the pleasure of being involved in island life on multiple levels. Tony served as the minister of the Harbor Church for twenty years and the church and its ministries continue to be an important part of their lives.

Cindy took an active role in local conservation on the island and was instrumental in the creation of the Block Island Land Trust and served as its chair for over 8 years. In 1993 she was awarded the Bayberry Wreath Award. She was the 1994 recipient of the national Times Chevron Award in recognition of Exceptional Achievement in the cause of conservation. She has served on the Block Island Conservancy Board and is currently sharing her real estate experience and knowledge by serving as the Chair of the Block Island Housing Board.
